
Prior to joining the firm, Karen served for more than a decade in the Law Department for the City of Brockton. She began as an Assistant City Solicitor in 2013 and was later promoted to Senior Assistant City Solicitor, advising the Mayor, department heads, and boards and commissions on a wide range of municipal matters, including labor and employment law, collective bargaining, governance, regulatory compliance, and municipal operations.
As Chief Labor Counsel, Karen led collective bargaining negotiations, represented the City in grievances and labor arbitrations, and provided strategic guidance on workforce management and disciplinary matters. She also represented the City in litigation and administrative proceedings in state and federal courts and before agencies such as the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, the Department of Labor Relations, and the Civil Service Commission. In addition, Karen regularly counseled City officials on the Open Meeting Law, Public Records Law, Conflict of Interest Law, and City Charter provisions, and drafted ordinances, contracts, and legal opinions to support effective municipal governance.
Earlier in her career, Attorney Fisher was an Associate Attorney with a local general practice law firm in Brockton, where she represented clients in various fields of law, including personal injury, family and probate matters, and landlord and tenant disputes.
